Ten Manipulations: Forward Momentum

We debated into the wee hours last night the alterations that should occur in the third act. It came down two votes to three that CHARLIE should try to get back with CHERRELLE, with the generally agreed notion that she wouldn't have it, that she has another boyfriend. Whether he persuades her or not I will leave a secret.

I will say that those feeling the climax of the movie came too soon and not in the right company will be pleased by this ending. I don't want to say that we've had third act problems, but I do think the ending we were working with before was intentionally ambiguous and therefore unsatisfying to general readers. I'm convinced that we can do this new ending and remain true to the characters and the story world.

On other fronts, we also talked about meeting with director/producer EP and producer/editor MS. The EP meeting on Monday fell through and EP's busy all this week so we'll try to catch him last minute before the holiday crush. Either way, for-profit or non- I think we'll be incorporating under someone else's umbrella. The idea is to just do this as streamlined as possible, so we may have to give up a percentage to have someone else deal with the taxes. A lack of money-smarts is our team's serious weakness and I really hope MS can step in and help us out.

Anyway, the project is moving again. I'm going to see what I can do to finish the dreaded d9 tonight with the new ending. Ott out.
