Camcorder Owners, Know Thy Sins
Former PBS cameraman Charlie White tells new camcorder owners how to shoot. One pet peeve:
And, by the way, don't call what you're doing with that camcorder "filming." You're not filming anything. Look inside the camcorder. See any film in there? You're using video, so call it "shooting video," or "taping."
Some newbie mistakes he's hip to: shaky-cam, head room, bad lighting, too-wide framing. I'd also like to add focus-swims and exposure-swims to the list. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to read the article.
