Sony HC3 HDV Camcorder Announced

Sony has another baby HDV camera, the HDR-HC3:

It’s smaller than the HC1 (Sony claims it is 26% smaller) and can shoot 4-megapixel still images as well as 1080i high def video.

I was initially pretty down on these tiny HDV camcorders. But after seeing some footage shot by clever prosumers, and looking into the HD future at the HD Expo, I'm beginning to warm up to them. No, they don't shoot as nice as the $100,000 cameras, but they shoot a lot better than 2% as nice, and leave plenty of room in a budget for actors, props, lights and sound.
