Website Review: KeepVid

Another handsome web-video site is here. KeepVid isn't a video sharing site but a video saving site. It let's you save on your computer all those embedded flash videos on Google and YouTube, handy for when SNL serves a subpoena and takes down the free copy of "Lazy Sunday" you wanted to show your buddies. (They do, of course, have a perfectly legal right to do so. However, the video wouldn't have been the viral phenomenon it was if it was initially priced at $1.99.)
Does this work on DRM'd videos? I don't know. If it removes the DRM then it is probably illegal to use it on a DRM'd video, so be careful. This is a review, not an endorsement.
What will probably be most worthwhile in the long run about this site is the Top 20 videos page. This gives a nice overview of what's popular across the various vidsharing sites, and will be a one-stop for checking the zeitgeist. (Note: At time of posting, none of the Top 20 videos I tried to view were accessible because of "networking errors". No telling whether the individual sites have locked off KeepVid, KeepVid isn't yet operational or if my Win XP/Firefox combo isn't supported.)
